Deadline for New York Residents Sexually Abused as Children Extended to January 14, 2021

Last year, New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed the Child Victims Act into law. The Child Victims Act provided survivors of childhood sexual abuse with a one-year window to file cases which had already been time-barred. The original one-year window for filing claims was set to expire on August 14, 2020. Governor Andrew Cuomo has extended that deadline an additional five months until January 14, 2021.
