Edward L. Maurer
A large number of clergy members in New York have been accused of sexual abuse. A list was put out by the Diocese of Brooklyn, and the allegations of sexual misconduct against all those listed have been deemed credible. Among them is Edward L. Maurer. He was ordained on May 31, 1969, and was permanently removed from ministry on July 22, 2002.
Maurer died on August 20, 2016, but victims of Maurer can still seek compensation for sexual crimes he committed. His assignments were Holy Innocents, Brooklyn; Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Forest Hills; St. Thomas Aquinas, Flatlands; St. Stanislaus Kostka, Maspeth; Christ the King, Springfield Gardens; and St. Joseph, Long Island City.
