James R. Lara

The Diocese of Brooklyn has put out a list of clergy members with credible allegations of sexual abuse made against them. James R. Lara was on the list. He was ordained on May 28, 1973. He was removed from ministry in 1992 and laicized on March 30, 2007.

His assignments include the following: Transfiguration, Brooklyn; St. Barbara; Bushwick High School Newman Associate Chaplain; St. Francis Xavier; St. John’s University; Northeast Hispanic Catholic Center; Post Ordination Studies at the University of California, Berkeley; and Jesuit School of Theology, Berkeley, California.
